If only we listened to women…

Fewer people would be confused, surprised, and trying to make sense of senseless acts.
Because Martha Brockenbrough, Sarah Kendzior, Rebecca Solnit, Naomi Klein, and Tressie McMillan Cottom have been telling us for over a decade. I’m just now playing catch up to understand present-day politics. The hard truth helps, I’m finding.
I’d say go read all these women’s works, but I haven’t been able to stomach holding their truths in my hands. I’d get too upset and throw their books across the room, so I’ve been audiobooking all of them. Thanks to my Libby app and my local library, I’ve been mainlining totalitarianism, corruption, kleptocracy. Each listen sheds more light.
Looting not leading. Worshipping almighty power not undying compassion. Welcoming climate catastrophe as the second coming instead of protecting our planet.
More makes sense in the absurdity of it all. The complete and utter audacity. Oh, right has settled my system. Less reeling, more resolve.
